The Manawanui Project
„Navigare necesse est, vivere non est necesse“
After a call for help, we have formed a charity and bought the 72 foot ketch SY MANAWANUI . In August 2025 we will sail north via the archipelago of Vanuatu to the southeast Solomon Islands, for a humanitarian, intercultural friendship voyage .

Our Vision
„Nā tō rourou, nā taku rourou ka ora ai te iwi“ -Māori proverb
The Manawanui Project aims to build sustainable partnerships by connecting with remote communities in the Temotu province of the Solomon Islands and connecting those communities together.
In this way, we want to be part of a reciprocal global initiative that equips communities with resilience against the negative effects of climate change for generations to come, especially in the Pacific region. We also believe that by fostering and deepening cooperation between the different communities within the Solomon Islands, we might be able to foster a better sense of community and belonging.

Team
„Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean“. – Ryunosuke Satoro

Your support will make the difference
„Der Eine wartet bis die Zeit sich wandelt, der Andere packt sie an und handelt.“
Raise awareness
A lot of small Island communities feel the impacts of our changing climate now, houses and crops are destroyed by repeating and intensifying weather events. If you feel that more people should know about the impacts of climate change, get involved.
